Wayman Crosby

Executive Director, Real EstateIndependent Advisor

Overview

A graduate of UBC in Urban Land Economics in 1978, Wayman has an extensive and successful real estate career. Spanning over 40 years, it encompasses the brokerage, investment, development, finance and management aspects.

He founded Wayman Crosby & Associates in conjunction with David Ritchie and Ritchie Bros Auctioneers in the early 1980s, pioneering real estate through unreserved public auctions. Wayman left the Ritchie Bros partnership to pursue project marketing and value-add development projects for their own account in Western Canada and the Sunbelt areas of the US under the Crosby Galbraith & Associates banner from the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s.

Wayman retired from the active real estate business in the mid-1990s to partner with Mel Martin in the self-storage business in Kelowna and Hart Molthagen in the engineered wood manufacturing business in Surrey. The love relationship with labor unions and manufacturing was short-lived, but the exit took seven years.

Wayman pursued a professional coaching certification and spent several years providing personal and business coaching to clients. One of those clients was Nicola Wealth Management, where he has been involved since 2003 and has held various roles as the company rapidly grew. Wayman was a member of the Management Group at Nicola Wealth Management until 2017. He headed up the real estate division as Managing Partner from 2005 to 2019. Currently, Wayman is a member of the Investment Committee for Nicola Real Estate. He also serves as a director of the Nicola Wealth Private Giving Foundation and the Nicola Gives Back Charitable Committee.
