Robert Olsen

Robert is the Head of Nicola Wealth’s Private Capital division, overseeing Private Equity, Infrastructure, Private Debt, Mortgages, and Venture Capital.

In addition to a focus on team development, investment strategy, and expanding funding sources and new investing verticals, he also chairs Nicola’s Private Capital Investment Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Robert spent 15 years at Deloitte where he held various leadership roles, including serving as Vice Chair and Leader of its Private Equity segment, along with Chairing Deloitte’s Corporate Finance practice which became Canada’s top sellside advisor according to Mergermarket.

Prior to Deloitte, Robert spent 20 years as a Private Equity and Private Debt investor at Goldman Sachs and a series of institutionally backed private capital funds he co-led and where he directly invested in over 50 companies. With a MBA from Ivey Business School and ICD.d from Rotman, Robert's diverse expertise also extends to board positions, expert witness roles, and as a former world-ranked member of Canada's national boxing team.
