Abi Coman-Walker

Abi Coman-Walker brings over two decades of global leadership experience in operations, transformation, and risk management across financial services and biotechnology. As Chief Operating Officer at Nicola Wealth, she leads the firm’s operations, technology, compliance, and asset-management support functions, ensuring the systems, processes, and infrastructure are in place to support the firm’s clients and ambitious growth strategy.

Known for her adaptability, and purpose-driven leadership, Abi has led organizations through periods of rapid expansion and complexity. Before joining Nicola Wealth, she served as Chief Operating Officer at Acuitas Therapeutics, where she oversaw business operations, transformation and strategic growth initiatives in one of Canada’s leading biotechnology companies.

Prior to this, her career spans nearly two decades with HSBC globally, where she held progressively more senior international roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Wealth and Personal Banking, Canada, Global Head of Business Financial Crime and Regulatory Risk, and leadership positions across the United Kingdom, Middle East, South America and Asia.

Originally from the UK, Abi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of East Anglia and is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA). A passionate advocate for inclusion, community and mentorship, she serves on several charitable boards, including as Board Chair of JA British Columbia and as a Director at the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM), and mentors emerging women leaders as a co-leader of Mentor Walks Vancouver.
