Born and raised in beautiful BC, Erica studied at the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, before returning home to Vancouver to finish her degree in design. She’s worked with countless mediums throughout the years, including graphite, acrylic, watercolor, india Ink, and oil. She’s had the privilege to work as an illustrator, portrait artist, teacher and photographer, but her truest love is painting beautiful landscapes that bring a little joy to every home they find themselves in.

Today, she is a landscape artist with a penchant for capturing moments of beauty that the Canadian landscape so frequently provides. She love everything about the creation process, from taking photographs for future works to sketching new ideas and laying paint onto canvas, and she enjoys working where two particular styles meet.

Lyse Deselliers was born in Quebec City and obtained her DVM from the University of Montreal in 1989. While pursuing her career as a veterinarian in Ottawa and then in Calgary, she continued to develop her artistic skills as a painter, taking night classes at the Alberta College of Art and studying under Karen Swearengen’s guidance. Her body of work mainly consists of acrylic landscape and cityscape paintings along with public art murals. Deselliers has shown her work in Calgary, Okotoks, Canmore and Waterton National Park, Alberta as well as Penticton and Kelowna, BC. She has been involved in numerous fundraising events where the sale of her artwork benefited various organizations such as Amnesty International and World Wildlife Fund. Deselliers has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2007 and in 2019 won first price with "Spring in Osoyoos", in 2017 won the FCA People Choice Award as well as second price for her painting “Time stamped and sealed”. She has paintings now residing in collections throughout North America and London, UK. Currently, she is focusing on creating larger pieces in an attempt to better capture the monumental beauty of the Okanagan, using aerial photographs of the area surrounding her hometown of Penticton.

Floral paintings that exude atmosphere and energy...bold, bright works of art that have a 3-dimensional quality achieved by layering sculpting medium directly on to the canvas surface. These unique paintings, with multiple layers of transparent glazes and dry-brushed opaque strokes, are the work of Canadian artist Debra Martin.

In addition to her widely collected floral images, Martin is known for landscapes characterized by dramatic skies and bold, colourful vistas. She explores in her landscapes what she describes as "those ethereal moments created by sudden changes in atmosphere. There is that brief instant after a heavy rain when the clouds drift apart and the sun suddenly illuminates and transforms the landscape. When I paint, I am trying to capture these moments as they unfold across the canvas".

Equally charming is her bicycle series wherein vintage bicycles with their signs of wear and age are testament to a life being fully lived. To Debra, a bicycle's "accumulated scratches, dents and missing parts tell a very human story of challenges faced, risks taken and triumphs celebrated".

Martin continues to explore this theme of life well-lived in her wine series, where sumptuous fabrics cradle glasses of wine celebrating the beauty of red, white and rose.

Debra's paintings are found in corporate and private collections across Canada and the United States, as well as Europe. Her work is currently represented by Gallery 421 in Kelowna, British Columbia.
