Selena sits down with Carol Lee, Chair of the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation, a registered charity that she co-founded in 2011, who shares more about the foundation’s mission to preserve and revitalize Chinatown in Downtown Vancouver, BC along with its neighbouring communities.
Carol also shares her experience growing up as a minority woman in Vancouver, how she ultimately found her purpose and passion, how she believes we can collectively make positive change by giving back and paying it forward, and most importantly, how one can build their confidence in order to find their own voice.
Ms. Carol A. Lee is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Linacare Cosmetherapy, headquartered in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown district. With long-standing family ties to the history and development of Chinatown, she is deeply committed to the revitalization of Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside. She is Chair of the Vancouver Chinatown Revitalization Committee, and Honorary Patron of the Chinese Canadian Military Museum Society, and serves on boards of several other organizations. In 2016, she was appointed to the Finance Minister of Canada’s Advisory Council on Economic Growth. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and received her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Selena is Vice President, Advisory Services – Associates & Operations at Nicola Wealth. With over two decades in financial services, Selena brings passion and expert experience to her role at Nicola Wealth. Selena is involved with Junior Achievement, providing business education to youth, she is also a member of the Nicola Wealth Women’s Speaker Series’ Steering Committee, is the host for the Women’s LEAD Podcast, and is an active member of the Social Committee.
