Since Russia invaded Ukraine, at least 12 million people have fled their homes in search of safety. While Canada continues to help Ukrainians looking to escape the conflict, there is still much to be done to help those displaced by the war.

Father Mykhailo Ozorovych, the pastor at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in New Westminster, joins Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, John Nicola, to share how his church is supporting Ukrainians who are fighting in the war and helping refugees find safety and community when they get to Canada.

Father Mykhailo Ozorovych

Father Mykhailo Ozorovych was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on April 8, 2017 (Lazarus Saturday) by Bishop Ken Nowakowski, Eparch of New Westminster. The ordination took place at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in New Westminster. He is currently the pastor at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral.

Father Mykhailo is married to his wife, Olesia, and they have one son. He is originally from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine and has lived in Canada for ten years. His church is working to provide both practical and emotional help for those who need it.
