On June 24, 2020 Dr. Don Sin shared his experience working through a global pandemic and his work in the development and implementation of a rapid, sensitive, and cost effective diagnostic test for COVID-19. He also answered questions pertaining to his work with the teams at the Centre for Heart and Lung Innovation and St. Paul’s Hospital.
Guest Bio – Dr. Don Sin
Dr. Don Sin is the Director of the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) at St. Paul’s, a Canada Research Chair Tier 1 in COPD and a Respiratory Physician at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Dr. Sin is a Professor of Medicine at UBC, the inaugural De Lazzari Chair at HLI, and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in COPD. He is also a staff respirologist at St. Paul’s Hospital and the Head of Respiratory Medicine at Providence Health Care in Vancouver. Dr. Sin is ranked the top medical expert in COPD across North America and second in the world.
Dr. Sin received his medical degree and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine at the University of Alberta. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University.
