John Nicola, CEO and Chairman, Nicola Wealth Management

John Nicola provides strategic leadership to Nicola Wealth Management. A veteran of the financial services industry since 1974, his areas of expertise include investment management, estate and financial planning, as well as business planning with a focus on best practices for wealth building, exit strategies, and shareholder agreements.

In 2011, John was selected as the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Financial and Professional Services in the Pacific Region), in 2015 John was named the Winner of Business In Vancouver’s BC CEO of the Year Award – Small-Medium Private Company, and most recently, John was recognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired CEOs.

Peter Senst, President, Canadian Capital Markets, CBRE Limited
Peter Senst has become one of Canada’s foremost investment sales advisory experts with more than 30 years of experience. He has completed some of Canada’s most significant sales and advisory assignments in all property sectors totaling over $60 billion.

Peter heads the National Investment Team in Toronto with a focus on office, retail, industrial and urban land. The National Investment Team consists of 20 real estate experts. Peter is also a member of CBRE’s Global Capital Advisory Team. The Global Team consists of key leaders and heads of the Capital Markets for the different geographic regions. In this role, Peter has  completed multiple joint ventures totaling more than $3  billion. He is also a member of CBRE’s Canadian Board of Directors, Executive Management Committee and Canadian Executive Council. As an industry leader, Peter is frequently quoted by the media.

Armin Martens, CEO, Artis Reit

Armin Martens has been actively involved in the construction, development and management of commercial real estate for over 25 years. He is the founding President and CEO of Artis REIT, a position he has held since 2005. Armin obtained a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) degree from the University of Manitoba. He is a registered professional engineer and holds an M.B.A. degree from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Mr. Martens is a past director of Fortress Paper Ltd. (TSX:FTP), as well as the Bank of Canada, Canada’s central bank.

Joe Mazzocco, Former Executive Managing Director and Co-head of Investments, KingSett Capital

Until earlier this year Joe was Executive Managing Director and Co-Head of Investments at KingSett Capital, one of Canada’s leading private equity real estate businesses. Joe joined KingSett Capital in 2005, after 11 years in investment banking, appraisal and real estate information services.

Joe was responsible for sourcing, structuring and negotiating the acquisition, financing and disposition of real estate opportunities across Canada in multiple asset classes. In addition, Joe was also Chief Risk Officer of KingSett’s mortgage lending business.

Prior to joining KingSett Capital Inc. Joe worked with the CIBC World Markets’ Real Estate Investment Banking group for six years, he was responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of billions of dollars of real estate in all asset classes throughout North America and was involved in all aspects of real estate investment banking, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing, advisory and property brokerage. Joe received an honours degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Real Property Development, from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Mark Hannah, Managing Partner, Nicola Crosby

Mark is responsible for acquisitions at Nicola Crosby. He started in the commercial real estate in 1981 and has over 33 years’ experience in the brokerage industry. In 1994, he helped establish the Vancouver office of Avison Young Commercial Real Estate, an employee owned company which has now grown significantly to a worldwide commercial brokerage company.

Mark has extensive experience in sales and leasing of commercial real estate and served as the company’s Managing Director of the Vancouver office. This experience has proven invaluable in his current role at Nicola Crosby.
